The Z-28 Mk. II updates Dr. Z’s classic EF-86 pentode-preamp design with a new dual-5881 power section (up to 30 watts) and a post-phase-inverter master volume. The EF-86 delivers a three-dimensional, harmonically dense tone distinct from typical 12AX7-preamp designs. Standard in black on the head. Hand-wired, tube-rectified.
