Z-80
80-watt head modeled on the ultra-rare Vox AC80/100 used by the Beatles, with 4 individually cathode-biased EL34s and a post-phase-inverter master volume.
About this amp
The Z-80 is Dr. Z’s 6-years-in-development recreation of the ultra-rare Vox AC80/100 the Beatles used on their final US tour, retaining the original’s quad of individually cathode-biased EL34 power tubes at a bulletproof-reliable 80 watts. Adds a midrange control the original bass-focused design lacked, plus a post-phase-inverter master volume and buffered FX loop. Designed to pair with a matching 2x12 open-back extension cabinet loaded with Celestion Alnico Golds. Hand-wired.
