Size 2 Parlor
A steel-string reimagining of Preston's own vintage 1892 parlor guitar, with a 12" lower bout that belies a surprisingly loud, sweet voice.
About this guitar
The Size 2 Parlor is Thompson’s take on one of the earliest production steel-string body shapes, adapted from a vintage 1892 gut-string parlor guitar Preston owns by re-thicknessing the top and bracing for steel strings. Despite its small 12” lower bout, players are consistently surprised by its volume and sweetness, and it’s been built in a range of tonewood combinations beyond the standard all-mahogany version.
