The Optimist Dual Overdrive & EQ
A Cory Wong signature pedal pairing a mid-focused germanium overdrive with a flat-response overdrive and a post-drive active EQ, controllable over MIDI.
About this pedal
The Optimist runs two distinct overdrive circuits, OD1 (a germanium circuit voiced for midrange presence) and OD2 (a flatter, transparent drive), usable independently or stacked together for more gain. A shared three-band Baxandall-style EQ follows the drives (or can run on its own) with plus/minus 12dB of adjustment, and all three sections, OD1, OD2, and the EQ, can be switched via MIDI CC messages. It draws a minimum of 150mA at 9V DC.
