Brown Jug Head
Head version of the Brown Jug, Allen's take on the rare Fender brown Vibrolux with an all-tube bias-modulation tremolo.
About this amp
The Brown Jug Head is based on the rare Fender brown Vibrolux (6G11-A) circuit, adding a bright switch, RAW mid/gain control, darken control, presence control, adjustable bias with rear measurement jacks, and an impedance switch. Its tremolo uses bias modulation from a 12AX7 rather than an opto-coupler for a slower, more organic pulse. Runs 22W on 6V6 tubes or 35W on 6L6s via a plug-in solid-state rectifier, with a 5AR4 tube rectifier standard.
