Sultan Amp Combo by Headstrong Amplifiers

About this amp

The Sultan is blueprinted from Wayne’s own Brown Vibrolux (6G11/6G11-A) amps — the same model Mark Knopfler used on Dire Straits’ “Sultans of Swing.” It carries the tapped-treble control characteristic of Fender’s brown-era amps, runs 30 watts on a pair of 5881 or 6L6GC tubes (a 20-watt, 6V6-based version is also available), and has an organic bias-vary tremolo across two channels. Offered as a 1x12, 1x10, or 2x10 combo, or as a head. Fully hand-wired, with alnico speaker upgrades and matching extension cabinets available.
