Z-40 Head
40-watt distillation of the Z-80's British character into a dual-EL34 power section, with a switchable tube/solid-state rectifier and TAD Hi-Grade 12AY7 preamp tubes.
About this amp
The Z-40 distills the Z-80’s chiming British character into a portable dual-EL34 power section, using TAD Hi-Grade 12AY7 preamp tubes in the first two positions and a switchable tube (5U4GB)/solid-state rectifier for two distinct feels. A “Cut” control fine-tunes the high-mid chime, backed by a post-phase-inverter master volume and buffered FX loop. Hand-wired.
