Bitmap 2 - Bitcrusher
By Red Panda
A bitcrusher with fractional bit reduction (24 down to 1 bit), sample-rate reduction, and sample-rate modulation, plus waveshaping/wavefolding and a window comparator for extreme digital distortion.
About this pedal
Bitmap 2 combines fractional bit-depth reduction with sample-rate reduction and modulation, then layers on waveshaping, wavefolding, and a window comparator for more extreme digital grit. A drive control adapts it from single-coil guitars to line-level synths, and an envelope input lets sampling rate or mix react to playing dynamics. Runs from subtle 8/12-bit sampler warmth up to glitchy, inharmonic digital distortion. Includes MIDI, four onboard presets (127 via MIDI), and a web-based editor.
