Olivera Vintage Oil Can Echo
By Strymon
A stereo pedal emulation of vintage electromechanical oil can echo units, known for their dark, murky, self-regenerating repeats.
About this pedal
Olivera recreates the oddball sound of late-1950s oil can echo machines, which wrote a static charge to a rotating oil-lubricated disk to generate delay repeats. The result is a uniquely dark, band-limited echo with an uneven, non-rhythmic cadence and repeats that regenerate even without feedback applied. Strymon adds modern conveniences on top, including discrete stereo processing, an expression/MultiSwitch input, delay spillover, and MIDI control of patches and continuous parameters.
