Thorn Florentine "Piatta" by Thorn Guitars

About this guitar

The Piatta strips the Florentine body down to a thin, flat solid mahogany or Korina slab with an extra-long tenon set-neck joint, aimed at a lighter, more resonant take on the shape. Pickups are Ron Ellis humbuckers or Thorn’s own GT-90/Rod-90 staple-top single coils, wired through dual volume/tone and a 3-way switch into a Thorn Knuckle-Wrap wraparound bridge. Cosmetics are simpler than the rest of the Florentine line — a black-painted, deco-logo headstock, vintage celluloid dot inlays, and a choice of chrome/nickel or gold plating. Finished in ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer with aging options, ships in a hardshell case. Build-to-order — wood, hardware and finish choices are priced individually beyond the base price.
