Thorn Guitars

Los Angeles custom electric guitar shop run by Ron Thorn. Ron started Thorn Custom Inlay in 1993, and by the mid 1990s he and his father were the Fender Custom Shop's sole inlay artists. Thorn Custom Guitars built the Artisan, Junior Ninety, SoCal, DeLuxe and Grantura models until 2018, when Ron became the first Principal Master Builder at the Fender Custom Shop. He reopened Thorn in 2024 to build heirloom guitars to order.

A cleaner-cosmetic Florentine-body set-neck guitar in mahogany, Korina or Black Limba, available solid or semi-hollow, built to order.

Thorn J2V2-FOC

A Korina-body, fixed-bridge sibling to the J2V2, with a 3-pickup Seymour Duncan lineup and a Velvet Blue finish.

Thorn G/T

A bolt-on offset build offered solid or as a slim-line semi-hollow with an optional carved top, in Thorn and Ron Ellis pickup configurations.

A bolt-on swamp ash offset with a Seymour Duncan Saturday Night Special humbucker, push/pull coil splitting, and Thorn's Brass Knuckle/TailSlide vibrato.
