Albatross
By Analog Man
A seagull-cry pedal for Gilmour's Echoes sound, with no foot treadle. The Deluxe version adds a fixed-position wah.
About this pedal
David Gilmour got the seagull cries on Pink Floyd’s Echoes by plugging a wah in backwards and working his guitar’s tone knob. The Albatross gives you that sound without rewiring anything: roll your tone knob down and the pedal starts to chirp and cry, with the neck and middle pickups working best. It reacts to the signal coming straight from your guitar, so it won’t work behind a buffer or a wireless unit.
Unlike a normal wah, it has no rocking treadle, so you can’t sweep it with your foot. The Deluxe version adds a toggle and a side knob that turn it into a fixed wah, the sound of a wah parked at one spot. It is true bypass and runs on a battery or a 9V supply.
