Belle Starr Overdrive
A low-to-medium gain overdrive developed with Drew Shirley of Switchfoot to recreate the natural breakup of a small, hard-pushed amplifier.
About this pedal
Belle Starr uses MOSFET clipping instead of silicon diodes for a smoother, more amp-like transition from clean to driven tones, with gain spread evenly across the control so there’s no sudden jump into distortion. An active Body control adds up to 15dB of low-end shaping and a passive Tone control voices the highs similarly to a Vox-style Cut knob, both with center detents for quick recall. It runs on 9-18V DC through a true-bypass footswitch.
