J&H Music is a family-owned instrument store in Oakland, Maine, formerly Down Home Music Shop. Owner Jeff bought the business from his father-in-law, Doug, after more than 20 years working alongside him. Setups and repairs on guitars, basses and other string instruments are done in-house, and the shop's repair gallery shows its hand-carved bone nuts and saddles. The store also sells new and used instruments and offers lessons through seven instructors.
